Hey Jealousy

Ginger crawled up into her mom's lap and happily rested there while her owner read for school at the kitchen table. Paislea observed this action while snuggled up in the cushy seat in the corner of the kitchen.

Ginger: Oooh, she's letting me sit here while she studies. I must be so special. Better be still so I can stay!
Paislea: I don't know why you get to be up there and I don't. Maybe she'll put you down in a second.
Ginger: Nope! I belong here too. You get plenty of turns.
Paislea: Hmmmph. If only there were two laps in this house.
Ginger: Two laps? You think we'd be so lucky?
Paislea: Not at the rate she's going. I used to have two laps or three laps on a regular basis. But I think those laps moved away. And she never goes anywhere to bring home more laps that might actually stay more regularly.
Ginger: Two or three laps! Wow! I could sure use some extra laps. She sits in this uncomfortable chair with no blanket all the time.
Paislea: If there were two laps, there wouldn't be any extra laps. There are two of us, you goofball.
Ginger: Oh.
Paislea: Why did she bring home such a youngster? Looks like your turn is over - she finished her drink and put down her pen.
Ginger: Ugh! But I only got to sit for 10 minutes.
Paislea: Na-na-na-na-na-nah!
